Common questions
Pricing and Offers
How does the 10% seniors discount work?
Mention it when you book and we'll take 10% off the job for eligible seniors. It stacks with the fixed price you already approved, never with any other offer, and there's no paperwork or card to show us on-site.
What does "$50 off when you book online" cover?
Book through the website instead of calling and $50 comes off your job total. It applies once per booking, works alongside the $0 call-out fee, and gets confirmed before we arrive so there's no surprise at the end.
How do quotes work?
We look at the job, either on-site or over the phone for straightforward call-outs, then give you a fixed price before anything starts. That's the price you pay. No estimate that creeps up once the van's in your driveway.
Is the quote really free?
Yes. Free quote, $0 call-out fee, no catch. You can say no thanks and we'll leave, and you still won't owe us anything for the visit.
Common questions
Licensing and Responsibility
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. We hold NSW Plumbing Licence #275278C, we're Master Plumber accredited, and we carry $20 million public liability insurance. Ask to see the licence on-site if you'd like, we're used to it.
Can I clear a blocked drain myself?
A plunger on a single blocked sink or toilet is fine to try first. Chemical drain cleaners and hired electric eels can crack old earthenware pipe or push the blockage further in, and any real drainage work in NSW legally needs a licensed plumber.
What is an overflow relief gully and why does it matter?
It's the grate near your outside wall that lets sewage overflow onto the ground instead of backing up into your home if the line downstream blocks. Never seal it, paint over it or build over it. It's doing its job by being there.
Do wipes really block drains?
Yes, even the ones labelled flushable. They don't break down like toilet paper does, so they snag on rough joints in older pipe and build into a solid blockage over a few weeks. Bin them instead.
Common questions
Response Times and Booking
What counts as a drain emergency?
A toilet, floor drain or shower overflowing with sewage counts, and so does water surcharging up through an outside gully. A slow-draining sink that's been sluggish for a week is real but it can usually wait for a normal booking.
How fast can you get here?
On-site in 30 minutes, guaranteed, for genuine call-outs in our service area. A licensed plumber answers the phone day or night, works out what's happening, and gets moving straight away.
Are you really open every day of the year?
Yes, 365 days a year, including weekends and public holidays. A real person picks up every time, so you're never left waiting on a callback.
How do I book online?
Use the contact form on this site and tell us what's going on. We'll confirm a time and the $50 online-booking offer applies automatically, no need to ask for it.
Common questions
Working in and Around Bondi
What suburbs do you service?
We work right across Bondi and into Waverley, Bronte, Dover Heights, Clovelly and Coogee. If you're near any of those and your drain's playing up, we're already close by.
Do tree roots really get into pipes here?
Regularly. Mature street trees and garden plantings send roots straight into the joints of old clay and earthenware drains. Once they're in, they keep growing and choking the line further each season.
Why do Bondi's older drains keep blocking?
A lot of the pipe under Federation cottages and older walk-up flats is original earthenware, laid last century. It cracks and shifts out of alignment over time, snagging roots and debris where a modern pipe would run clean.
Do you know Bondi's pipe stock?
We've worked on plenty of it. Federation-era cottages and the interwar and postwar flat blocks each throw up their own quirks underground. Knowing which era you're dealing with saves time on-site.
